In this project, elementary students in a downtown Manhattan school studied the 1980s and the way the fusion of fine art and street art revitalized the culture of New york City.

We collaboratively built a 1980’s subway car using large-scale woodworking and then covered it in graffiti and socially conscious advertisements. Finally students coded interactive video art displays or “art video games” about problems facing New York, and placed in them in each of the subway’s windows.
